ABOUT VALERIE

Be Yourself. Everyone else is already taken.”

Meet Valerie

Valerie Nifora’s literary journey began quietly and against the odds. The daughter of Greek immigrant parents, English was not her first language, a challenge that shaped her early years in school. With the encouragement of a teacher who recognized her potential, Valerie learned discipline, focus, and the power of perseverance—qualities that would guide her academic life and, ultimately, her writing.

For several decades, Valerie has built a distinguished career as a Marketing Communications Leader at a Fortune 50 company, where she has served as a trusted ghostwriter to senior executives and led award-winning storytelling campaigns designed to inspire and connect. Her professional work has earned multiple honors, including the 2024 Premier Business Woman of Long Island Award.

As an author, Valerie’s work has received fourteen literary awards to date. Her series The Fairmounts Saga earned two Hawthorne Prize Short List distinctions, and her novel Mary Whitcombe was named Christlit Fiction Book of the Year. Across both poetry and prose, Valerie explores love, longing, resilience, and the quiet emotional truths that shape our lives.

Valerie holds a B.A. in Communications from Emerson College and an M.B.A. from Fordham University. She is married and the proud mother of two sons. When she is not writing, she continues to believe deeply in the transformative power of words and the enduring beauty of a well-told story.
